Dear Tim,

We have predicted vertical movements of less than 3mm.

Following the assessment criteria in Ciria 580 and considering the disposition and proportioms of the adjacent building relative to ours we arrive at a burland scale damage category of 0 negligible.

Please let me know if you require any further information.

Kind regards,

Steve

Tim

I am working my way through the documents and should hopefully have the bulk of my assessment completed by Monday (it wont be possible to get it finished by tomorrow).

I still have some further discussions to have internally about CAC and have been getting legal advice on Substantial. I will update you once I have finished my discussions.

Can you advise on the following:

  • What are the existing and proposed floorspaces in GEA for 12 Greenaway Gardens?
  • It would be helpful to have the ground displacement figures quoted in the Yates Webb document (“Assessment of effects of lateral retaining wall…”) translated into Burland Category scales of damage to the neighbouring properties.  I imagine that the scale is likely to be very low (displacement seems to be 2.84mm at 3m on the West side with 11 GG) but I am also not clear if the identified movement is a maximum.

thanks

Gavin
