Hi David
Further to our conversation just now and yesterday's visit, I am dropping
you a line to let you know that having spoken with some potential builders etc
re the idea of a completely solid roof and consequently we probably will not be
looking to do that now.
The load bearing implications and therefore the extra foundations and
structural work that this would occassion would not make having a totally solid
roof feasible at this stage.
Having discussed it with a company who does these sorts of things we will
probably look at either a hybrid roof which is partially solid and partially
glass OR just glass. Everything else to be the same in the pre-planning
application.
This company did say that all their materials were thermally efficient and
it would make the space a habitable room. I do not know if that has any planning
implications? Also if you could let me know any potential issue we would have to
address with light pollution or spillage from having a glass roof that would
also be appreciated.
If you have any questions please do let me know otherwise I look forward to
hearing from you.
Thank you for your assistance thus far.
Kind regards
Rosie Nicholls
